Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about booking through 4Drive St Maarten. We connect you with local providers — no deposit, no credit card hold at pickup.

Below are the most common questions travelers ask before and after booking. Our platform handles the advance payment online; the rest happens directly with the provider listed in your voucher. If your question isn’t covered, call +1 721 545 3287 or email [email protected] during Mon-Sun: 8:00 AM – 6:00 PM (AST).

How does the booking process work?

You search dates and vehicle type on our site, pay the booking advance online, and receive a voucher by email. That voucher names the local provider, pickup instructions, and exact terms. At the counter you present the voucher, complete the agreement directly with the provider, and drive away.

Do I need a credit card at pickup?

No. The providers we connect you with do not require a credit card hold or deposit at the counter. You can pay any outstanding balance — if applicable — with debit or cash, depending on the provider’s policy stated in your voucher.

What documents do I need to bring?

A valid driver’s license held for at least two years and a passport or government-issued ID. Some providers accept licenses in English, Dutch, French, or Spanish; others may ask for an International Driving Permit if your license uses a non-Latin script. Check your voucher for specifics.

What is the minimum age to drive?

Most providers set the minimum at 21 years with two years of driving experience. A few categories — larger SUVs or premium models — may require the driver to be 25. The voucher will state any age restrictions for your booking.

Can I change or cancel my reservation?

Yes, as long as you contact us before the pickup time. Changes to dates or vehicle type depend on availability. Cancellation terms vary by provider; your voucher outlines the specific window. Email [email protected] or call +1 721 545 3287 to process any modification.

What is the fuel policy?

Full-to-full is standard: you receive the vehicle with a full tank and return it full. Sol and Cadisco stations are common island-wide. Some providers offer a pre-purchase fuel option; that detail appears in your voucher if available.

Can I cross into the French side?

Yes. Sint Maarten and Saint-Martin share one island with no border checkpoints. You drive freely between Philipsburg, Marigot, Grand Case, and Orient Bay. Traffic rules and speed limits remain consistent: right-hand traffic, 40–60 km/h in built-up areas.

Where do I pick up and drop off?

Our office sits at Airport Road 26, Simpson Bay, a short walk from Princess Juliana International. The provider named in your voucher may meet you at SXM arrivals or at their own lot nearby. Drop-off instructions — including after-hours return — are printed on the voucher.

What happens if I have a problem during the period?

Contact the provider first using the phone number on your voucher; they handle roadside assistance and mechanical issues. For booking or billing questions, reach us at +1 721 545 3287 or [email protected] Mon-Sun: 8:00 AM – 6:00 PM (AST).

Ready to Book?

No deposit. No credit card hold. Just the freedom to explore both sides of the island.
